I’d have to say this is a good thing, and typically the kind that goes under the radar. If the money is used well and for the purposes it is set out for, some credit is due to the BCCI and Messr Pawar & co.
The BCCI and Sports Ministry have together set up a corpus of Rs 800 million
under the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF). The BCCI has contributed Rs
500 million, while the Sports Ministry has invested Rs 300 million for the same.
The fund is to be utilized to assist India’s medal prospects in boxing, archery,
swimming, judo and wrestling in their training and participation in different
international events, and procure equipment for them.
